Big Brothers Big Sisters provides one on one and small group mentoring programs to children ages 6 through 16 in Lanark County. Programs focus on building self esteem, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices, positively impacting the effects of bullying, and increasing success at school.

 

A groundbreaking new study by The Boston Consulting Group demonstrates the power of investments in Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring to deliver strong economic value over time. The study was designed to audit the financial return to society from Big Brothers Big Sisters, and it found that every dollar invested generates on average $18 in hard dollar returns to society.

 

Working with key community partners, the agency is currently looking to hire 1 staff for After School Program Initiatives in Smiths Falls. This is a contract position running to the end of December 2018 for 3 hours a week, currently on Thursday nights.

Position Purpose: Facilitate various activities that promote physical activity, healthy eating, positive personal development and wellness; and to engage and support teen aged children and families in our community.
